50" Class Muskie, Lake Okoboji, Iowa

Hello,
Here is a picture of a 50" class Muskie. It measured
49" across the curve. I have seen small Northerns
and Perch with this condition but never one that
reached this size. Okoboji is near Spirit Lake and is
just South of the Minnesota border in Northwest Iowa.
Anyway it won the Muskies Inc. contest. Two trophies
and some cash. Who's your Grandpa was put on for the
benefit of Grandchildren.
Bright skies after a 12" rain the night before. No one
thought the fish would be biting, but they were
on a feeding spree with the rising water.
Lure was a Bucher Depthraider. Leader was one of my
home made flourocarbon leaders. I will be showing how
to make them at home without purchasing special tools
when I post vidio.
Line counter Shimano reels and good heavy Fenwick Muskie rods.
Some of my favorite lures are Crankbaits like Believers, Raiders, etc.
We'll discuss in detail later.
Boat was a 1750 Crestliner with a 90 Horse Power
Mariner engine.
Good Luck and Keep on Fishing,

Clayton Will 53" Muskie, Will-C-Fish

This 53" is one of Iowa's largest Muskie's ever caught. The state record is 50.5# and 52", this one is close but still swimming as it was released. One of three caught in 45 minutes. Follow me over the next years for many tips to catching a variety of Big Fish. I'm not bragging, just having fun and can help you too. As my son would say - even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Will-C-Fish
